Dr. Borges has a master's and a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology, focusing on Transplant Immunology. He completed his research training at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He is currently in the Riella laboratory at the Center for Transplantation Sciences (CTS) of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
As a research scientist, Dr. Borges is committed to identifying novel targets in transplantation and developing more specific immunosuppressive therapies with reduced side effects. He has authored over 55 peer-reviewed publications, editorials, and book chapters. Dr. Borges received the AST Young Investigator Award at the ATC in 2015.
